Hi, my name is Don Elconin. I current live in Eugene, Oregon with my loving wife of 45 years. We have three children and one wonderful grandchild. I spent 52 years living in Santa Barbara, CA previous to moving to Eugene. I was always involved in sports when younger and today I very much enjoy gardening.
My wife and I love to travel, and will continue to do so as long as possible. I love the game of bridge and am currently a Silver Life Master. I am lucky and grateful to be living right on the Willamette River and daily contemplate how my life has mirrored that of Siddhartha in Herman Hesse’s novel, albeit in a modern western format.
I have had two main professions in my life. My primary financial profession involved the creation and development of financial economic ventures, primarily real estate. This business side of my life started with receiving an MBA from Anderson School at UCLA and working independently afterward. Simultaneously, I started study of astrology in 1968 and started as a professional astrologer in 1974. I am primarily a self-taught astrologer, but I studied with Bruno & Louise Huber and earned diploma from their school. I also completed the Aquarius Workshops Programs. I spent years involved in the astrology salon held with Marion March.

I use a mixture of systems in my astrology. I define myself as a western tropicalist, with Huber overtones and some Rudhyar tossed in. My focus is personal based natal astrology, somewhat psychological, while trying to maintain usefulness on the worldly level. My focus and use of astrological systems is centered on personal growth and self-development. My astrological approach is unique in using two different natal charts, one that focuses on the inner life and one on one’s life in the outer world. I am close to completion and publication of a book covering my approach.
While I see value in the use of a psychological approach in astrological study and delineation, my approach is more pragmatic.
